Paris

On our way to Greece, we had a long layover in Paris (about 8 hours). So I asked Michele to take me on a whirlwind tour of Paris (Michele has been to Paris several times and knew the city well). We pretty much visited all the obligatory 'touristy' places, except the Louvre (ran out of time - have to wait till next time see the Mona Lisa!)

We took the subway from the airport to the city and to all points of interest. We visited the Notre Dame cathedral. Then we walked along the Seine river to the grounds of the Eiffel Tower. We took the elevators to the top of the Eiffel Tower - what a marvelous view of the City of Lights from up there. It was time for lunch, so we had ate at a cafe on the Champs-Elysées. We then visited the Arc de Triomphe, and strolled along the Champs-Elysées lined with restaurants, and shops enjoying the atmosphere. By then it was time to head back to the airport to catch our flight to Athens.

I have to come back to this awesome city and stay for a lot longer and experience it at leisure!
