This was the first overseas trip Michele and I took together. We spent
a week in Amsterdam with my good friend from Sri Lanka Gajen Kandia and
his wife Lisanne (Lisanne is from Amsterdam). We also met with Michele's
friends Carol Rogers and Eric Schlinger at numerous occasions.
At the time of writing this, it had already been a long time since we
went on the trip, and I couldn't remember all the details.
In no particular order we did the following. We visited the VanGough museum
- a must even if you are not an art entusiast. We also went to the
Red Light district, toured the entire city on cable cars, and walked
on the bridges over the countless number of canals. We saw Anne Frank's
house and took the tour - definitely recommend this. And last but not
least dined at some excellent restaurants. Two restaurants stood out.
Chez Goerge - a Belgian/French restaurant. We had an incredible
seven-course meal. Tempo Doelo - an Indonesian restaurant famous for their
'Rice Table'.
